Grand-Sud (in English: "Great South") is a province of the Great Empire of Ordonnia located at the most southern point of the country. Its capital is the city of Heliogo in the Heliogo Prefecture. It is comprised of 8 districts, and immediately border the states of Atlantika and Pacifica.
History
The province is incorporated in Ordonnien following the Great Consolidation. It is integrated peacefully following a democratic vote of the people of the former state.
Already a popular region for tourism, its integration in Ordonnien made its southern resorts very popular tourist destinations amongst the people of Ordonnien and of allied states.
Following the Great Consolidation, many of its mines were nationalized and given over to be exploited by the Ordonnia Corporation through Administrative Tenders.
Activities
The Province of Grand-Sud is mainly powered by its two very contrasting activities: mining in its inner lands, and tourism on and around its coasts.
Prefectures
Grand-Sud is divided in eight prefectures. The capital prefecture of Grand-Sud is Heliogo.
Heliogo Prefecture
The Heliogo prefecture is eponymous to the city of Heliogo. One of Ordonnien's largest cities, it is a huge touristic resort and blooming capital of entertainement. It is mostly centered around Heliogo, and known for its Monument to the Sun, for its shining beaches, and for its animated nightlife.
Mont-de-Morsang Prefecture
A pretty unwealthy prefecture, Mont-de-Morsang does not enjoy the same touristical boom as the other coastline prefectures due to its proximity to the Cesan border. Its capital city is the eponymous city of Mont-de-Morsang.
Le Casse
Le Casse is another coastal prefecture of Heliogo, named after the city of Le Casse, second largest touristic resort of Grand Sud and one of Ordonnien's major resorts, Its Head of Prefectorial Administration (and also mayor of Le Casse) is Brice NICE, a local celebrity unknown outside of the Prefecture.
