Square4, stylised in the logo as "square4", is a chain of supermarkets operating in the Great Empire of Ordonnia and in other places. It is known for its aggressive marketing and sometimes dubious products.

History

In reality

Square4 was created in 2020 to serve as a shop for the prototype "MeaxisNetwork City". The name Square4 originates from a pun contributed by Firearth_Winter, referencing French chain of supermarkets Carrefour.

Square4 expanded and made further appearances in several Ordonnia games. It was added to the MeaxisNetwork Headquarters game in 2021 and allowed players to spend in-game currency for items, such as water, canned food, or cereal.

Cartie Nicklesmart's only existing image.

Square4 recieved a mascot named Cartie Nicklesmart somewhere in 2021 (the first written mention being in October 2021). Cartie is an eccentric shopping cart with 2 eyes and a mouth, known for its high-pitched voice and tragicomic character, as he is heard several times crying or in difficulty during advertisements.

In 2023, Square4 gets its more "aggressive" identity seen in the repeating Square4 logos, the insistence on deals and promotions, and the shadier products. A Square4 opens in Westburn Street.

That identity is expanded on in 2024 with even more aggressive advertisement and flashier colors. Square4 opens locations in places outside of Ordonnia, such as [not yet revealed] and [not yet revealed].

In 2026, Square4 opens its first location in Nosrah City, in the renovated Olympus Square, under the name "Square4 Voyage". It sells miscellaneous goods, such as the 4boombox, 4nuggets, or the Tung Tung Tung Sahur.

Capital City of Sixaem

In the C.C.O. Sixaem, Square4 has many supposed locations. However, the currrent known ones are:

• Freud Boulevard, facing the MeaxisNetwork Headquarters' Lavoisier Street (demolished)
• Good Success Street, facing the Ordonnia Headquarters' fire exit (demolished)
• City Entrance (MN City), on the exit of the roundabout opposed to Sixaem Central (demolished)
• Sixaem Central, following the right exit of Liverpool Square (inaccessible in game)
• Westburn Street, in the middle of the street (game closed)

Other places in the Great Empire

Square4 is, in the lore, the most implanted chain of supermarkets in the country. However, it can only be seen at few locations in-game:

• Obrimest, facing the train station of Obrimest (inaccessible)
