Square4 was created in 2020 to serve as a shop for the prototype "MeaxisNetwork City". The name Square4 originates from a pun contributed by Firearth_Winter, referencing French chain of supermarkets ''Carrefour''.

Square4 expanded and made further appearances in several Ordonnia games. It was added to the ''MeaxisNetwork Headquarters'' game in 2021 and allowed players to spend in-game currency for items, such as water, canned food, or cereal.

Square4 recieved a mascot named ''Cartie Nicklesmart'' somewhere in 2021 (the first written mention being in October 2021). Cartie is an eccentric shopping cart with 2 eyes and a mouth, known for its high-pitched voice and tragicomic character, as he is heard several times crying or in difficulty during advertisements.

In 2023, Square4 gets its more "aggressive" identity seen in the repeating Square4 logos, the insistence on deals and promotions, and the shadier products. A Square4 opens in Westburn Street.

That identity is expanded on in 2024 with even more aggressive advertisement and flashier colors. Square4 opens locations in places outside of Ordonnia, such as '''[not yet revealed]''' and '''[not yet revealed]'''.
