The station is named after General Acot, a war general who fought in the ''war of'' ''Cesano-Dusta'', on the side of the government, to prevent voters to reach polling stations for a referendum on independence of the Dusta region.

His favourite technique consisted in the ''"seagull car''" which consists in sending a car rolling down a hill towards enemy fortifications.

The station recieved its name in the first plan for the Line C. It was the first station to be fully built.

In 2024, the station recieves the PLEXUS command center for the upgraded Line C.
